Dreamville singer Ari Lennox posted a video on her Twitter account and tagged Disney vying to play Princess Tiana in the live-action version of the 2009 Disney movie,  The Princess and The Frog.

“Hi @Disney I’m Ari Lennox,” Lennox titled the video with the caption. “And I would love an opportunity to audition for the Princess and the Frog in person. Here’s #AlmostThere by Anika Noni Rose.”

Noni Rose is the actress who was the original voice for the Princess Tiana character in the animated movie.

Lennox, whose debut album Shea Butter Baby was certified Gold in October of 2022, shared her version of “Almost There” in a two-minute video on her Twitter account, with fans reacting to the video— all mostly positive reviews. 

One user simply tagged Disney, saying, “Do the right thing” by casting Lennox. Another fan used Lennox in a Dreamgirls comparison and said she’d show her future children that Lennox is Princess Tiana. 

In addition, a quoted tweet on Lennox’s video was another user simply saying that Lennox is “perfect for the role.” 

A live-action remake of The Princess and The Frog is in development, but no cast or release date is confirmed, according to a Toonado.com report.
