[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name their Top 5 rappers of all-time. To make things tricky, we've created a "Hall of Fame" of emcees (see right) who are universally respected and therefore may not be mentioned. After Shanell aka SNL revealed her picks last week, rapper Lecrae brings out his fave five.]
Andre 3000. He adds a whole new element to hip-hop. His style and his lyricism. He’s thought-provoking but yet still everyman’s rapper in some ways. He has a unique way of putting stuff on his head.
Busta Rhymes. Obviously. I think he’s animated, super energetic and super dope.
Trip Lee. I have to go with a home team hero. I know a lot of people won’t know him but my man Trip Lee. That’s just because as a man of faith, he’s put out his music for years and he started at 16 years-old. He’s just grown tremendously over the years. Anyone familiar with him knows what he’s done. He’s legendary.
Black Thought. I would put Black Thought in there as well. He’s always been a dope emcee, dope lyricist.
Snoop Dogg. I’m going to say Snoop for obvious reasons. Snoop has just been consistent.
