Ant-Man and the Wasp is finally here to take home Digital HD and next week on Blu-ray and DVD. This part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is one the more underappreciated in my opinion.

Ant-Man’s role within the Avengers is not very high on the totem pole, he’s legit just happy to be there. But, now he has his sidekick who may in fact be stronger than the actual hero himself. The Wasp taught him everything he knows and now is the time for her to showcase her talents.

With Scott Lang (Ant Man) on house arrest after his actions in Civil War, Wasp takes over! I’m getting ahead of myself, let’s get into the top five reasons you should get out and cop this latest addition to the MCU.

Reason 1: The Return of Paul Rudd

Be honest, Paul Rudd is pretty funny. His portrayal of Scott Lang, although be it different, still works within the realm of how the MCU operates. He’s got a good sense of humor about himself. Scott Lang is just as happy as can be knowing he’s part of the strongest team in the universe. Like he told Captain America, “I’m just happy you thought of me!” He continues to build on his success from the first one in this one.

Reason 2: The Wasp

Evangeline Lilly is back as well reprising her role as Hope Pym. More importantly, Hope Pym is back, and is even more bad a$$ this time around. Ant Man is on house arrest and cannot really act as the crime fighting hero he was meant to be. Although, his side kick, Hope is legit the muscle between the two heroes. As strong as she is though, she meets an even more bad a$$ villain we will talk about later. She’s now a big contributor to the empowerment of women on camera. She’s strong, smart and a leader. She’s fantastic.

Reason 3: Ghost

Hannah John-Kamen took up this role, and she was dope! I wish she had more camera time, but she killed this role. One of the many anti-heroes hell bent on revenge against big corporations, Ant man and Wasp have their hands full with this super villain. Although, she is looking to spare her own life with technology, her tactics do not exactly make her the best of heroes. When you see how she throws down on our heroes, you’ll find yourself rooting for her a bit. Or maybe I am just a sucker for a good villain.

Reason 4: Special Features

Per the usual, Marvel saves some its best features for their blu rays/digital HD’s. This one is no different. The gag reels are great, but the deleted scenes explain a lot of the holes left in this one. Granted there aren’t many, but it definitely helps in some aspects. The best part in my opinion though is the explanation of Hank and Janet Pym as the original Ant Man and Wasp. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Reason 5: The Stinger

f you didn’t know already, this movie takes place while everything with the Avengers: Infinity War is unfolding. The Avengers are fighting in Wakanda and taking on The Mad Titan Thanos, Ant Man and Wasp are battling Ghost ripping and running through the streets of San Francisco. But, after it’s all over, you get a legit STINGER after the credits. If you haven’t seen it yet, it will definitely give you a loud knee jerk reaction. I was that dude who yelled in the theater when I saw it. You will too.

If you’re a fan of the MCU, you’ll appreciate what Ant-Man and Wasp bring to the fold. It doesn’t add to the Avengers story except for the credits scene, but it is definitely worth the buy. Get out on your digital platform or go to the store to cop the hard copy. Whatever you do buy this one for sure to add to the Marvel collection.
