New York radio veteran Angie Martinez is reportedly preparing the release of a new autobiography titled My Voice where she discusses late hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur.
According to Angie, Pac had anger built up inside of him leading up to his 1996 unsolved murder.
Aptly titled My Voice, Martinez’s memoir, out May 17, explores the cultural developments “that touched me, that I learned from – and the moments people reacted to the most,” she exclusively tells PEOPLE. “[2Pac] was charming and amazing, but he was also angry at certain people. And aggressive,” Martinez, 45, reveals. “I just felt that the time was so sensitive that some of the things he said would have made the situation worse.” (People)
Martinez also spoke on the aftermath of Pac’s passing and delivering the shocking news to radio listeners.
“When he got shot, it was horrifying,” she explains. “And I was on the radio when it happened. I had to tell the whole city. Mind you, there’s no Twitter, no Instagram … People in New York found out Tupac died from me.” (People)
Last week, rap star Tyga defended calling late hip-hop mogul Tupac Shakur his father on social media.
“Yeah, I’m inspired by him as a student of the culture,” Tyga said referring to Pac. “Especially my generation. My real father has been in jail all my life so I never really knew my real father so I said Pac is like a father figure to me.” (TMZ)
Tyga posted up a few handfuls of Pac-related posts and referenced his real dad on Twitter earlier this month.

Pac taught me a lot more than my own father. Inspired me, Motivated Me, Listened without ever being there.
