OutKast’s Andre 3000 recently talked about his status in the music industry right now and revealed an interest in putting out a new project.

If things go his way, Three Stacks will put out a new release in the coming months.

“I can’t say that I have a target right now,” Andre said when asked about putting out new music. “I’ve gotten in trouble before for saying when or what is coming, so I like to just kind of let it be. I’d like to put out some kind of music project, but we’ll see.” (Billboard)

A few months ago, OutKast’s Big Boi talked about missing out on a Super Bowl performance because of Three Stacks.

“We were supposed to perform at the Super Bowl. We had two songs, ‘The Way You Move’ and ‘Hey Ya!’ and we didn’t, Dre didn’t want to split the songs up. He didn’t want to cut the songs. He wanted to perform them so they were like, ‘Y’all can’t do it.’ He wanted to perform both songs in full and they didn’t give us enough time to do it so we passed. [How much was I in his ear to do it?] A lot. To this day, his son is like, ‘Dad, you should have performed at the Super Bowl.’ [laughs] We look at it now and laugh but hopefully they’ll invite us back. He’s like my brother. We grew up together. I slept on his bedroom floor when we were in high school when I moved to Atlanta. It’s bigger than music with us.” (“The Dan Le Batard”)

Three Stacks previously denied buzz about a new OutKast album coming together.

“There are no plans to do [an Outkast album]. It’s not like some people think: ‘They’re about to drop this album!’ We don’t have, like, one song. There’s no trickery or nothing like that,” Andre explained in an interview. “It’s kind of like growing up in a house with your brother, people expecting y’all to live in the same room and have bunk beds forever. And people try to read into it and say people are beefing. But it’s nothing like that, man. Big Boi will always be my brother and a really important part of my life.” (Billboard)

In 2014, Andre talked about what an OutKast biopic would look like.

Rapper Andre Benjamin worked obsessively on his startling portrayal of Jimi Hendrix in the new film Jimi: All Is By My Side, and he already has ideas about a potential biopic for his group Outkast. “It would be great to make an Outkast movie right now, but instead of really serious, make it a full comedy — like Kevin Hart would play Big Boi,” he said of his rapping partner last night. And as himself? “We should cast somebody stupid — like Leonardo [DiCaprio].” (Rolling Stone)

  1. big boy better..real rapper all the way through…andre is more of a artist i respect his work but big boi got bars

  2. I have much more respect for Big Boi. At least he’s dropping music and putting projects out there. It’s your fans and supporters you’re eating because of, therefore, feed the fans. At this point, don’t say… just do Stacks. Dude’s a solid artist but c’mon man, step it up. Come back as Outkast too shiiiiiiiii

    • He dont have the passion for music any more…not saying thats bad…but i think his current status came to quick…people call him top five and i think that puts an unwanted pressure…to deliever what fans want instead of allowing him to create freely…he good but over rated..

      • I agree 100! As a duo, no one was better than them. Even as solos they’re great but I think the Top 5 came because he dropped a few VERY good verses. I think Quantity with Quality is key. If he has the Passion for it still, he should release a solo album. It’s a guaranteed Gold album if it’s even halfway promoted.

        • i think the verse that really put him over was that was that song they did ugk….that the first time i heard him call himself stacks …but i think you said it best
