Akon’s artist Costa Titch, who was a South African rapper signed to Konvict Kulture, died while performing in South Africa at a music festival on March 11. Akon released a statement on his death.
South African rapper Costa Titch, whose real name was Constantinos Tsobanoglou, died after collapsing on stage at the Ultra South Africa music festival in Johannesburg on March 11. He was 28 years old.

Tsobanoglou was signed to Akon’s Konvict Kulture label. Akon released a statement on his sudden death on Instagram.
“Costa Titch was more than just an artist,” Akon said in his statement on Instagram. “He was a brilliant superstar and a hardworking man with a kind heart which endeared him to all around him”
He also expressed his condolences to his family.
“The entire team at Konvict Kulture have lost a brother and an important member of the family,” Akon added. “Our hearts go out to his family and friends.”
Tsobanoglou was one of the rising music stars in South Africa. Tsobanoglou specialized in amapiano, which is a style of music that is characterized by deep house, drum-driven baselines, and soulful piano melodies. His song “Big Flexa” made him a star in Africa after it went viral on TikTok.
Tsobanoglou’s cause of death has not been released at this time.
There has been a recent increase in deaths at music festivals such as the 2021’s AstroWorld festival, which resulted in 10 deaths. Houston rapper Travis Scott issued an apology to his fans and the victims’ families.
Shortly after the festival, the U.S. Congress did its own investigation.
