Konvict Musik label head Akon has reportedly filed a lawsuit against former associates who allegedly stole his trademark for a fragrance line.
Details about the lawsuit were revealed online over the weekend.
Grammy winner Akon claims some former business partners stole his name and slapped it on bootleg perfume – and he’s suing them. The R&B rapper and music producer had talks with the fragrance developers but was stunned when they formed Konvict Cosmetics International and started selling the scent “Konvict” without his approval, the suit says. Additional reports claim the hitmaker has requested a cease in the company’s production.
The Grammy-nominee and founder of record label Konvict Muzik was recently in talks with fragrance developers to create his own scent. Akon is demanding the company ceases production. Rapper 50 Cent recruited actress Kim Kardashian for a fragrance line last year.
The 28 year-old reality star is developing her first fragrance in a joint venture with Lighthouse Beauty, which is also behind 50 Cent’s soon-to-launch men’s scent. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Kardashian’s new fragrance is expected to launch in spring 2010. Kardashian first disclosed her plans for a fragrance on her official Web site in July. Artists like Diddy and Jay-Z have also ventured out into the fragrance industry.
Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West all got fragrance deals when Iconic Fragrances, LLC (where Jay-Z is a principal) signed an agreement with Parlux. Also part of the contract is the announcement of an upcoming scent with a “well-established female artist.” Considering it’s Jay-Z’s deal and he’s married to Beyonce, let’s read between the lines on that one. So think about this: Everyone has a gun, it’ll be a lot harder to run around with a pistol and just shoot everyone you see. No one has a gun, well, these mortality rates might be lower but 22 kids still got stabbed in China. That alone should show you that crazy people just need to be crazy for something like this to happen.
You take guns from people then you have to worry about taking them from criminals, or you just make it even more likely for unarmed people to get stomped. Personally, I say life would be easier if people had tasers instead, but w/e. Being armed is better than being disarmed.

i was going to say more yesterday but this is such a sensitive subject. everyone wants to locate the source, but people just haven’t got past the loss of these children yet. it may take time. i look at it this way: that kids actions gained a lot of attention. i haven’t been following the story much after the initial broadcast so i don’t know if he was mentally ill or not, but if he wasn’t, then it was to get SOMEBODY’S (parents; peers; the worlds; who knows) attention. the parents could have been the difference makers. I think some people want to sympathize or empathize with the kid, but his victim selection almost make his actions unforgivable. he is now an american terrorist. I kind of go both ways on this subject because its nearly impossible to
predict the outcome of taking away guns. Cuz yea i mean people get guns
illegally all the time and if you take away guns theres no protection
from the ppl illegally using weapons such as this Adam Lanza murderer.
But on the flip side, if im not mistaken, Zimmerman owned that gun
legally and so did Michael Dunn who both shot and killed two kids for no
reason. So Idk maybe if they werent allowed to own those the outcomes
would have been different. But all of it is assumptions and speculation.

Just read a story about about some dude actually having his ccw when the AZ shooting went down..he could have stopped it but he refused stating (1) due to the chaos, he didn’t want to be mistaken for a bad guy (2) there were bystanders and he didn’t want to take the risk in which if he accidentally kills an innocent person while taking out the bad guy..we’re right back to point 1 lol
