Miami rapper Pitbull has weighed in with his thoughts on real estate mogul Donald Trump jabbing the Mexican community recently with immigration-related remarks.
In Pitbull’s perspective, Trump underestimated the power of Latins and their appreciation for the United States.
“I think Trump is far from ignorant, but I don’t think he really understood what he was saying and the power of Latinos. [He didn’t understand] how we’re always united, and how we truly respect this country way too much; we respect the liberty it gives us to control our own destiny, and the opportunities it gives us to take our families to other levels. I don’t think he really put all that together.” (Billboard)
Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame went on a Twitter tirade last Sunday (July 5) to name-check Trump and discuss human rights.

During a presidential announcement speech last month, Trump appeared to lump illegal Mexicans into one category.
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems. They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime. They’re rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they’re telling us what we’re getting.” (Statement)
