According to reports, Mr. West is slated to perform around mid-May.

Set your DVRs. Kanye West is closing out “Saturday Night Live” with a bang. The hip-hop icon has been booked as the musical guest for the season finale. “SNL” confirmed the rumors by announcing that Yeezy will perform on the May 18 episode with host Ben Affleck. This marks his fifth time performing on the show. It’s unknown what he will perform, but he has been in the studio in Paris working on new material. He was at his label Def Jam earlier this week to play some of his latest work. (Rap-Up)

Earlier this month, buzz heated up the Internet about Kanye returning from Paris to see his girlfriend and possibly take part in an upcoming airing of “Saturday Night Live.”

Kanye West is due back in the States next month, Page Six has exclusively learned, but it’s not necessarily to rush to the side of his very pregnant reality star girlfriend, Kim Kardashian. Sources tell us the rapper — who’s been working on a new album in France — will appear as musical guest on “SNL” on May 18. West’s been holed up in a palatial pad ever since Paris fashion week in February, leaving his baby mama alone to brave pregnancy and public scrutiny over her weight, maternity fashions and upcoming divorce trial with Kris Humphries. Sources tell us the rapper’s even pondering a permanent move to Paris. An NBC rep would only say the show hasn’t announced its lineup. (New York Post)

Yeezy appeared on the popular NBC broadcast back in fall 2010.

Kanye West brought his energy and his new signature red suit as he performed his new album’s debut single “Power” last night (Sat. Oct 2) on Saturday Night Live! The rapper mimicked the music video for the song by performing in front of an all-white back-drop with dozens of dancing women dressed in white surrounding him. ‘Ye also took the stage a second time during the evening to perform his new album’s second single “Runaway” along with Pusha T who guests on the track, which he premiered less than a month ago at this year’s VMAs. Outside of television, Ye’s girlfriend Kim Kardashian simmered down marriage speculation.

“[Marrying Kanye?] Don’t you think I should slow down? I think I should slow down. I’m just really enjoying my time with Kanye right now and we wanna have the baby and when you know how it’s gonna be in the end there’s no need to really rush it right now. … He also gets so defensive. He’ll call and say ‘Who’s saying mean things?’ And I’m just like ‘Don’t worry about it. I’m so used to it.'” (EXTRA)
