[With his new “Fire & Brimstone 2” album heating up the summer, Detroit’s JP One talks to SOHH about his blazing hot trilogy.]

I actually planned on doing a mixtape trilogy and what happened was I announced it, and before I announced it I had the artwork done for all three. Even the artwork goes together.

I plan everything out. I don’t freestyle much as far as music goes. I had the artwork done and I had posted it like, “I’m going to drop a trilogy this year,” and a few producers got at me to where I said, “Well, there’s no need to make this a mixtape anymore. I’m going to use original production.”

So once I started working, I got the first one done and there were more people sending beats but I chose to stick with the same producers because I wanted a more cohesive sound. I played it all out, there’s a banner with all of the dates on there. I actually have the dates on there, the third one will be out December 14.

It turned out exactly how I wanted it to turn out. The first one was real good, then I thought the second one was better, it was bigger, because I had a few bigger names on there.

I’m in a good place.

The third one is looking good right now.
