Hours after buzz of Usher's five-year-old son being rushed to an Atlanta hospital following a freak pool accident surfaced, new reports claim his ex-wife now wants custody of their children.
According to reports, Tameka Raymond filed the legal documents in court Tuesday (August 6).
Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Raymond has filed for custody of their two children following Monday’s pool accident which left their five-year-old Usher V in a coma. Tameka, who divorced the 34-year-old singer in November 2009, filed legal documents on Tuesday asking for an emergency hearing on grounds Usher is allegedly creating a ‘dangerous environment’ for the children. Tameka is allegedly claiming Usher is ‘abdicating’ his parental responsibilities by letting other people care for their two children,’ report the website. She is also said to be doubtful of the people Usher leaves in charge of looking after the children – Usher Jr and four-year Naviyd. (Daily Mail UK)
Early Tuesday afternoon, reports of Usher Raymond V being treated in an Atlanta hospital emerged.
Usher’s five-year-old son was rushed to the intensive care unit of an Atlanta hospital after a horrific swimming pool accident. Usher Raymond V nearly drowned after getting his arm wedged into drain of the family swimming pool 6 p.m. Monday evening. Though the boy is still in the hospital, doctors expect a full recovery. A detailed account of what allegedly went down has also turned up.
Here’s what we know … The child was playing in the pool with his aunt and saw a toy in the drain. He dove down to get the toy and his arm got stuck in the drain. The aunt immediately dove in to rescue him but couldn’t get his hand out. The maid then dove in and tried but was also unsuccessful. The maid screamed for help. Two men working in the house came out, dove in and freed the boy. He was given CPR immediately and rushed to the hospital. Usher arrived and drove in the ambulance with his son. 5-year-old Usher Raymond V is the oldest of Usher’s two sons with ex-wife Tameka Raymond. We’re told Usher and Tameka are currently at the hospital. (TMZ)
One of Usher’s employees reportedly contacted his ex-wife Tameka about their child’s injury.
“Tameka got a call from one of Usher’s staff members and rushed to the hospital,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She almost collapsed when she heard the news.” (People)
Both parents lost their 11-year-old son Kile Glover from a horrific jet ski accident last summer.
Kile Glover, stepson of singer Usher Raymond and biological child of ex-wife Tameka Foster Raymond, died Saturday morning (July 21), according to Channel 2 Action News. Kile was taken off of life support Saturday morning and died from heart failure according to a family friend, weeks after the 11-year-old was involved in a tragic Jet Ski accident. Kile was declared brain dead two days after the July 6 accident, and the family struggled with the decision to remove him from life support hoping for a turn in his condition. (MTV)
