Young Money’s Drake is keeping his name in the headlines this weekend after hooking up with longtime sports pal Johnny “Football” Manziel. #HeresJohnny

Months after his Manziel-inspired “Draft Day” track premiered, Drake and Johnny hooked up for a special moment.

Drake’s Houston Appreciation Weekend kicked off last night, and it looks like the rapper came up on a custom jersey just for the occasion. Johnny Manziel was on hand to deliver to his Canadian BFF a custom Cleveland Browns Jersey that matches the “TOP SZN” gear that October’s Very Own put out for the Texas-centric weekend. (Complex)

Back in April, Drake unleashed his “Draft Day” anthem to the masses.

Fresh off his European tour, Drake does it for his city, his fans, and his girl on “Draft Day.” The five-minute track, produced by Boi-1da and The Fans, samples Lauryn Hill‘s 1998 hit “Doo-Wop (That Thing).” While he doesn’t respond to Jay Z‘s “We Made It” diss, he does shout out Jennifer Lawrence (“You could really get it”), Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, and Chance the Rapper. Big news about Drake teaming up with YMCMB head Lil Wayne for a summer tour sprouted online Thursday (June 12).

Today, Drake and Lil Wayne announced their joint tour “Drake vs. Lil Wayne,” which will visit 31 cities in the U.S. and kicks off on August 8th in Darien, New York. This is first time that the two YMCB labelmates will top a bill together. (Entertainment Weekly)

The rap superstars are expected to hook up for the upcoming BET Awards ceremony.

Pharrell Williams, Usher, Drake and Lil Wayne are among the first slate of performers announced for the 2014 BET Awards, airing Sunday, June 29 at 8 p.m. Jennifer Hudson, Trey Songz and Lionel Richie, who will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, will also perform during the ceremony, the network announced Tuesday.
