While details are still forming, Scrilla broke the news over Twitter on New Year’s Eve.

“I want to take the time to say its been a learning experience working with CTE. no hard feelings but its time for me to do me,” he tweeted December 31st. (Scrilla’s Twitter)

After signing to CTE in May 2011, Scrilla spoke on joining forces with the “Snowman.”

“Well to tell you the truth I was performing at a club and [Young] Jeezy was there. His homeboy Slim had pulled me off the stage and said, “Jeezy wants to holla at you.” Jeezy said he wants to get on my record so I was like, “Man, you bullshittin’.” Next thing you know like a week later DJ Funky had called me and was like Jeezy wants to get on the record, send it to me. I sent Jeezy the record, and he laid his verse. We got the record playing in the clubs for about a week and everybody was going crazy for it. Jeezy saw the reaction and was like “So you ain’t signed?” I told him no [and] then he asked if I wanted to be down with CTE, and I said yes, and there you have it. I was easy like that. Once I got recognized, it wasn’t too hard after that.” (HHDX)

Earlier this month, Jeezy confirmed Gibbs’ unexpected exit from the label.

“Freddie is a talented artist and I decided that it’s time to press reset on my career and business ventures,” said Jeezy in a statement. “I have no doubt that Freddie will go on to be everything I believe he can be, and I wish him the best in his career.” (Rap-Up)

Both rappers’ departures follow Jeezy officially bringing his CTE crew to Atlantic Records.

Rick Ross isn’t the only boss bringing his talents to Atlantic Records. His rival Young Jeezy has partnered with the label on his new venture CTE World. The Atlanta rapper was previously named Senior Vice President of A&R at Atlantic. In his position, he will find, develop, and launch the careers of new talent. The new imprint will operate under Jeezy’s direction in conjunction with Atlantic Chairman Craig Kallman. “This is a fresh start for the CTE brand as we re-launch it,” said the Snowman. “This is why I chose to wipe the slate clean and create an outlet to support and nurture new artists to the best of my ability.” To celebrate the announcement, Young Jeezy will drop his new mixtape It’s Tha World on Wednesday.
