Young Money’s Tyga is back in music-making mode after announcing his new mixtape, Fuk Wat They Talkin Bout, will arrive this month.
Barring any setbacks, Tyga said his latest music offering would come out next week on Instagram Monday (August 17).
Despite the perception, Cash Money boss Birdman recently said Tyga had no issues with his label situation.
“Tyga’s new contract is a new contract,” Baby revealed in an interview. “Ask him, don’t ask me. Ask him. His new contract is a new contract. We re-did his deal. Come on man, Turk’s way back – that’s pennies. We ain’t even going to entertain Turk. That’s way back, that’s small money. … But Tyga got new money, that’s new money. Ask him. You don’t have to ask me, he’ll tell you. He felt like he wanted to do something different because his relationship with the other artists. That ain’t have nothing to do with me. His contract wasn’t with me. His contract was with Young Money – I’m trying to make it work. I ain’t got a problem with Tyga, Tyga ain’t got a problem with me. I don’t think he got a problem with [Lil] Wayne.” (Power 105.1)
Recent reports claimed Birdman had issues with Tyga releasing his The Gold Album project earlier this year.
Our sources say the Cash Money honcho thinks Tyga sunk his album — which sold just 2,200 copies in its first week — because everyone could listen to the songs for free. By comparison, Tyga’s last record sold nearly half a million copies. We’re told Birdman thinks Tyga purposely pulled the “childish” stunt … to get out of his deal, and go sign with Lil Wayne — but Birdman’s not counting this album. That means Tyga would still owe him another one. (TMZ)
