Late music icon 2Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, reportedly safe guarded her son’s song rights and financial legacy.
According to reports, the late Shakur made sure to keep Pac’s stash in safe hands.
Afeni had set up a trust to control all of Tupac’s music rights, and a rep for his estate tells us the paperwork is flawless. She also named the perfect executor, Tom Whalley — former head of Warner Bros. Records — to handle Tupac’s valuable catalog. We’re told the trust is very specific about heirs, and the money is going to select charities and family. (TMZ)
Hollywood actress Jada Pinkett Smith reflected on Afeni and her close-knit relationship to 2Pac on Facebook yesterday (May 3).
Music stars Game, iLoveMakonnen and Uncle Luke paid homage to Afeni on social media.

Details of Afeni’s unexpected passing surfaced early Tuesday (May 3).
The Marin County Sheriff’s Department says it responded to Afeni’s Sausalito, CA home Monday around 9:43 PM for a report of a cardia arrest. She was transported to a hospital … where she was pronounced dead at 10:28 PM. Afeni was a philanthropist, founding and running the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation after her son’s death. She was also a Black Panther … and defended herself in court when she was accused of multiple bombings. (TMZ)
Some stuff, you don’t even know if Pac would be happy with it all 🙁
Sad about Afeni. In my eyes, she was Hip-Hop royalty.
