Days after the passing of political activist Afeni Shakur, late music icon 2Pac’s original “Dear Mama” song has surfaced online.
The unexpected audio gem premiered online Thursday (May 5) evening.
Tupac’s 1995 single “Dear Mama” is one of the most important songs in his entire discography. But it turns out that the version fans all know and love is not the original. DJ King Assassin, who was Tupac’s DJ and part of the Me Against the World recording sessions, revealed that the world had not yet heard the original version of “Dear Mama.” (XXL Mag)
