Grammy-winning singer Adele has dished on her love for fellow crooner Frank Ocean and expressed her need for his long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s Channel Orange album.
In a new interview, Adele reveals her interest in hearing a new Ocean project.
But it takes just a few minutes with her to see that silence isn’t exactly her natural state. “I’m just f*cking waiting for Frank f*cking Ocean to come out with his album,” she says. “It’s taking so f*cking long.” She blinks, pauses, laughs again. “That sounds so stupid, coming from me, doesn’t it?” (Rolling Stone)
Ocean broke big news to fans about his music comeback back in April.
Ocean’s camp almost immediately confirmed the big album plans.
This had the Internet quickly asking: What could this mean? A new magazine by Ocean? A new record by Ocean? Both? A rep for Ocean confirmed to Billboard it is indeed both: A new album and his own publication are due in July. The magazine is titled is Boys Don’t Cry while the album title has yet to be revealed. Ocean released an unexpected tribute song to late R&B singer Aaliyah back in January.
In honor of what would have been Aaliyah’s 36th birthday, Frank Ocean pays homage to the late singer with a cover of The Isley Brothers’ 1976 classic “At Your Best (You Are Love),” which Aaliyah covered for her 1994 debut Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number. The Grammy-winning crooner took to his Tumblr page to share the tender tribute, which features him singing in a falsetto. (Rap-Up)
