New York rapper Action Bronson has stepped forward to speak out with an open statement to the students of George Washington University following his removal from an upcoming concert.
Bronson relied on his Facebook page to explain his past controversial lyrics which have landed him in hot water this week.
Details of Bronson’s removal from this Saturday’s Spring Fling concert surfaced earlier in the week.
The rapper’s set was cancelled following an outpouring of student complaints claiming that the rapper’s lyrics are misogynist, transphobic, and insensitive to sexual assault survivors. “The Program Board has decided to remove Action Bronson from Saturday’s setlist,” university representatives said in a statement. “We apologize to the GW community for causing distress over the past few days and for attempting to bring an artist who is not consistent with our values of diversity and inclusion.” GoldLink will headline the concert instead. Back in December, Action announced new album release plans.
Although he did not announce a drop date, Bronsolini teased his new album status on Twitter in mid-November.
I create the best when I feel I have a point to prove. That's how I'm feeling right now. Album 2 on the way.
