Top Dawg Entertainment's Ab-Soul has stepped forward to shed light on his labelmate ScHoolboy Q dodging bullets in a near-fatal shooting last week in Colorado. #Brothers
Despite one of his friends getting shot in the attack, Ab said he did not believe Q was targeted.
“That’s crazy, man, shoutout to the big homie Bear, man,” Ab said in an interview. “[My friend] took five — my homie Kem, I went to school with him, he’s part of the team, he took five for the team. We’re still trying to figure it out but to be honest with you, it’s looking like nobody was looking for Q. It looks like they were looking for someone else. We hope. I don’t want to expound on that. … I don’t have any enemies. That’s why I said we have reason to believe that had nothing to do with us or ScHoolboy Q.” (“The Breakfast Club”)
The radio transmission between dispatch and police heading to the crime scene surfaced online this week.
TMZ has obtained audio of the chaotic conversations. As the dispatcher explains that someone was shot in the head and another in the back … it’s apparent police are bracing for a violent confrontation. A man with a rifle came out of the bushes and began firing at Q’s SUV after a hip hop concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater outside Denver. The rapper — who was detained (see pic) wasn’t hurt. Two of the victims are still hospitalized … they’re expected to be OK. The shooter has not been caught. (TMZ)
Weekend reports claimed the rapper’s SUV may have been targeted by the shooter.
Rapper ScHoolboy Q may have been the intended target of a gunman who sprayed his sport utility vehicle with rifle fire outside a concert in Colorado on Thursday night, injuring three passengers. “It appears to be more targeted than random, based on what we’ve learned so far,” Jacki Kelley, a spokeswoman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, told NBC News. (NBC News)
The near-fatal attack went down last Thursday (June 19) in Colorado.
Rapper ScHoolboy Q was in a vehicle that was fired on after a concert at the popular Red Rocks outdoor amphitheater in Colorado, but he was not injured, investigators said Friday. Three other people were hurt in the shooting late Thursday in the parking lot at Red Rocks, but their injuries were not life-threatening, and one was discharged from the hospital Friday. (USA Today)
