Dej Loaf Drops Eminem Shocker After “Detroit Vs. Everybody” Anthem’s Release

Music newcomer Def Loaf recently talked about her appearance on rap star Eminem's "Detroit vs. Everybody" anthem and admitted she had no idea Slim Shady would grace the track.

According to Loaf, Em’s pal Royce Da 5’9 reached out to her last summer about appearing on the track.

“He was like, ‘I got this record,’ and I wasn’t sure if they were gonna make it. He said it would be [a track] called Detroit vs. Everybody, but I didn’t know it was gonna be Eminem.” The song features Danny Brown, Big Sean, Royce da 5’9″ Trick Trick, and Dej. When we spoke, she hadn’t even heard the anthem yet. It’s still surreal to her. “What would you do,” she asks. “How would you feel?” (Metro Times)

Recently, Loaf said Young Money’s Nicki Minaj had already reached legendary status.

“She’s one of the very few female rappers who actually makes good music, you know what I’m saying? She’s stamped. And when I say stamped, I mean she’s good—she’s already a legend, she can sit down today and never do nothing again and people will remember her forever. A lot of female rappers, I don’t know… I always say they come in the game and they expect a lot.” (Billboard)

Loaf also talked about how much love female supporters give her.

“Definitely. I get more love from the girls—I’m not gonna say more than the guys—but the girls definitely going crazy and it’s always good to see. That’s my thing, ’cause a lot of guys don’t listen to girls’ music. They’re not gonna ride around in the car listening to certain females. So I try to make music that the guys can ride along too, the girls, you know. Just kind of keep a balance.” (Billboard)
