Briefly talking about his upcoming Formula 50 fitness book likely dropping later this year, Fif touched on his pursuit to build up muscles.

“I’ve been writing, I wrote books since ’04, I’ve got this fitness book, well, a book on strength,” Fif said in an interview. “My concept of strength is physical, mental and spiritual. To offer that, and I’ll be releasing that shortly. Probably the end of this year or the top of next year. [My workout regiment] changes according to what kind of project I’ve got coming. When I was on the All Things Fall Apart [movie], I had to lose so much weight that I was just on a liquid diet for nine weeks and then I started trying to put the weight on, I was having protein drinks three times out of the day outside of my regular meals. I was eating like five or six times out of the day. And then I put the weight back on and now I gotta kinda get all the way cut up. I want to be back to the size I was when I released Get Rich or Die Tryin’. [laughs] I gotta get back to that, man!” (102.5 KDON)

This week, the buffed rapper’s Formula 50 book cover surfaced onilne.

50 Cent is teaming up with Jeff O’Connell for a fitness book titled Formula 50 which “reveals his strategic six-week workout plan for achieving a ripped body–and developing the mental toughness to stay in shape for a lifetime.” Up top is the front of the book which will be available on December 27th on iTunes as well as Hardcover. Last winter, reports bubbled online about the rapper’s intent to drop a fitness-based project.

Acclaimed actor, tireless entrepreneur and occasional rapper 50 Cent has announced his next eagerly anticipated extension of the 50 Cent brand. According to The Associated Press, the man born Curtis Jackson has begun work on a fitness book to be published in January 2013 by Avery Books, because of course he has. (NBC New York)

G-Unit’s Tony Yayo talked about 50 losing 54 pounds for his Things Fall Apart movie role back in 2010.

The MC is apparently taking his bulking up seriously, ordering a “cheeseburger all the way” and French fries in a restaurant where he stopped for lunch, according to the paper. “He was a real gentleman,” the manager said. G-Unit’s Tony Yayo told MTV News earlier this month that he admires his boss’ resolve when it comes to acting. “50 doesn’t party, he doesn’t drink. For his new film, the guy was, like, 130 pounds,” Yayo said. “He was running from the airport to the hotel. And I was like, ‘Man, he has the three D’s: desire, determination and [direction].'” (MTV)
