50 Cent Won’t Entertain Rushing G-Unit Reunion: “[What If] One Of Them Gets Shot & Killed?”

Written By S. Samuel

New York rapper 50 Cent has explained his reasoning for not rushing a G-Unit reunion and said past issues with estranged members could resurface if everyone tried to make a reconnection go down.

50 cited former Unit member Game’s past disses and public taunting for steering him away from the reunion idea.

“Every time there was nothing going on [Game] said “F*ck you, 50,” to generate some sort of new interest. But now that doesn’t work anymore. So you gotta figure out a new way to do it. And now it’s saying, ‘We’ll get G-Unit back together!’ … If it worked it would be something cool that I did. [But] what would you say if I actually did put it together and then it fell apart right in front of you? Or if I bring them around each other and their feelings from a long time — the disrespect and the talking — bleed over into the people that are just around them and then one of them gets shot and killed, or one of them gets stabbed and hurt bad. Then what?” (The Boom Box)

G-Unit’s Tony Yayo echoed similar comments this week when asked about hooking back up with Game.

“My problem with [Game] is that once he got to the point where he wanted to be, when he sold 5 million records, it was G-Unot,” he said. “So it’s like why would you want a reunion now if you want to be the guy to bring down the brand and the name. … When we were broke, and we didn’t have a pot to piss in, we were all callin’ each other’s phones and that’s the thing that just upsets me the most, and it makes me just want to say, ‘F— rap’ … Loyalty is my biggest thing. 50 helped all of us eat. We all had mansions; we all had Bentleys; so if Fif is in a bad mood or feels a certain way that day, you just eat that. You learn to judge your friends for who they are.” (MTV)

According to reports, the West Coast rapper’s Facebook page is flooded with G-Unit reunion petition posts.

The Game is taking his hope for a G-Unit reunion very seriously. The Compton rapper has been promoting a petition to get the old musical gang back together again. Maybe. Numerous post have been made to the “Hate It Or Love It” rapper’s official Facebook promotion the petition, including: Is there a G Unit Reunion gonna happen in 2013??? Let’s see how many signatures we get! Vote here www.GUnitReunion.com However, there are no such messages on Game’s Twitter account. At the time of this post, the petition has over 5,500 signatures. It hopes all the fan support will urge the entire G-Unit collective–50 Cent, Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck and the Game–to “make it happen.” (HHW)

In 2010, the “Talk of New York” vowed to hurt his “I’m Runnin'” collaborator if he ever came back to the Unit.

“You know what I think would be cool if Game comes back,” Yayo asked XXL Mag staff during a live UStream broadcast. “I’d set him up and smoke him on the tour bus or something. Or throw him off the tour bus or run him over with the tour bus or poison his food, or, I don’t know, something. I want him to get back so I can set him up…I don’t see nobody I had beef with. We’re running around doing our thing and they’re running around doing nothing. I don’t want to be friends with Game. I don’t want to be friends with that guy. That guy’s bi-polar. He’s gonna say ‘F*ck G-Unit’ tomorrow. He’s crying one day saying, ‘Oh, hip-hop,’ then he said, ‘Oh, I want to be with the Unit,’ then he said, ‘I don’t want beef with n*ggas,’ then ‘F*ck Yayo.’ I don’t got time for that man.” (XXL Mag)
