G-Unit's 50 Cent recently talked about the success of former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland and why he believes she is the most slept-on female artist out right now.

Asked for his reaction to Rowland’s “Motivation” hit, 50 said the success is long overdue.

“I’m so happy Kelly got that hit record,” 50 responded. “She’s due; she’s so due. She’s the most underrated female soloist in the game, and it’s finally time for he…There wasn’t no dance moves Beyonce was doin’ [in Destiny’s Child] that Kelly wasn’t doin’. It’s just the right song. You got the song, now you can forget about it. It’s going. They all did the same moves.” (MTV)

In 2009, 50 recruited Rowland to star in his “Baby By Me” music video.

Getting cozy in what could be deemed an unexpected pairing, Kelly Rowland and 50 Cent linked up for a video shoot recently. While they’re not dating, Rowland does appear as the leading lady in the rapper’s “Baby By Me” music video. The new lead single from 50’s Before I Self Destruct features Ne-Yo and is swiftly moving up the R&B/ Hip Hop songs chart. No word on when the video will premiere… although it should be soon. When asked how the visual collaboration happened, 50 said he met Rowland during an awards show.

“I ran into Kelly at the Latin VMAs, which I attended to perform with Wisin and Yandel, and I asked her if she would consider doing it,” 50 explained in 2009. “You can’t forget all the work she did with Destiny’s Child. The difference between Kelly and Beyonce is the extreme focus they put on Beyonce to make sure she was completely right. Kelly wasn’t held in the same regard, so, in order for her to mean anything to America, they’d have to match the marketing dollars spent on Beyonce. She never received the superstar treatment.” (Billboard)

Rowland’s new Lil Wayne-featured track debuted online last March.

Kelly Rowland links with Lil Wayne on “Motivation,” the Jim Jonsin and Rico Love-produced single from her oft-delayed third solo album. Over a sexy, synth-saturated beat, the former Destiny’s Child diva commands her beau to put his hands all over her. “Go longer, you can last more rounds/ Much harder, you’re almost there now/ So go lover, make mama proud,” coos Kelly, throwing it to her labelmate Weezy, who raps about getting a taste of some sugar.
