1. The Big Comeback

Is 50 Cent winning right now? The Unit is back, his album is doing numbers as an indie release and now he’s doing it big with the new “Power” TV show? Entertainment Weekly has a big update on the future of “Power”:

The New York-set drama just premiered last week, starring Omari Hardwick as a nightclub owner by day and the kingpin of the most lucrative drug network in New York by night. Power comes from creator, showrunner, and executive producer Courtney Kemp Agboh (The Good Wife) and fellow executive producers Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Mark Canton, David Knoller, and Randall Emmett, who will all return for the sophomore season. (Entertainment Weekly)

Have you tuned in yet? For all the hype around 50 Cent’s new TV show, it seems to be living up to the hype already. Can it avoid a sophomore jinx? #SOHHWhatchaThink?

2. The Unit’s Back

Are you ready for a G-Unit summer? The remixes and freestyles have been coming out in bunches from the Unit. Tony Yayo is giving everyone a reason to start getting excited. Tony Yayo’s Twitter has the update:

“It going to be a ggggggg-unit summer.” (Tony Yayo’s Twitter)

It’s not really the biggest update or really any ground-breaking news, but it’s pretty exciting to see how hyped up Tony Yayo is about the Unit being back. Will that one former West Coast member somehow join in on the fun? #SOHHWhatchaThink?

3. Throw Some A’s On That

For everyone who thinks stripping is a joke or strip clubs are just a place where you throw money away, you might have to think twice. The minds at 5WPR have a pretty wild scoop on a New York strip club offering:

Strip Club Rewarding Good GPA’s

Show Palace, the Queens-based all-nude strip club that admits 18- to 21-year-old customers, and hires under-21 dancers will kick off the summer by offering hardworking local students free lap dances for good grades. Throughout the summer months, students who bring in their 2014 report cards can get 2 free lap dances with a 4.0 GPA and 1 free lapdance with anything above a 3.5 GPA.

Admission will also be free at the club that hosted Belle Knox’s recent performance. Talk about a motivator for studying hard. (5WPR)

If students needed any more reasons to study hard and do their best in class, could this be it? #SOHHWhatchaThink?

That about wraps it up for today. This is SOHH On The Spot giving you the morning scoop from your favorite gossip sites.

    • Ace Hood had the whole Cash Money push and he was lucky to get that Buggatti hook from Future, his verses were weak af 50 got a good album and g Unit – Nah Im Talkin Bout is way better than most rap shit I hear nowadays anyway…pussy…

      • Maybe Ace hood club records are more interesting than Fiddy’s post 06 records —

        • he has no content in his raps , just money and bitches, only good parts of his songs are the guests. but his 2 songs i like are all better then everything 50 has put out since curtis.

          • Hov or EM will never do 40K first week with or without marketing…this Fiddy guy got 8 Million Twitter followers yet even 100K of em can’t buy his album? Dam I don’t get it —

          • That’s Not what i’m saying Fam. I Think 50 Cent sold 40,000 and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is getting $5-7 per cd sold. That’s not including Digital Downloads and streaming …..but what do I know Fam? I’m Just a Fan…Ha

          • Dude this is his biggest FLOP of his career thus far

          • you just seeing the numbers fam. 40,000 on an indy with really no radio ain’t bad.imo

    • Independent. Do an essay on the diff between major and independent at school. Ace hood prob getting 50c per album while 50 gets $5-$7

  1. I’m not coming back to this site they report false info, 50 album is doing well? How does an artist go from selling 10million to 47k well and stop wit this independent shit 50 is not an independent artist

  2. 47,000 independent, #1 on 3 different billboard charts, #4 in Canada and top 10 in other European contries, plus the #1 urban album in the UK. NUMBERS DONT LIE

  3. DJ KHALED DID 27,000, RICH GANG 24,000, YOUNG MONEY 32,000 FRENCH MONTANA 49,000 ALL ON HUGE MAJOR BUDGETS…AND THEY ALL DIDNT CHART WORLWIDE LIKE 50 DID.. IM A HIP HOP FAN, I GIVE CREDIT WHERE ITS DUE!

    • dont forget chief keef who had the biggest buzz in the industry at the time of release and he only did $50,000 on interscope on a major label
