G-Unit head 50 Cent may have a feud brewing after giving his take on rap mogul Diddy transforming back into his music alias "Puff Daddy" for a comeback album.

While Fif gave fellow rapper Jay Z a pass, he questioned Puff’s relevance as a hip-hop artist.

“You’ll see Jay around as long as he’s been around. What he’s on like 11 albums? Puff’s still out there. He don’t even need a record. Cause he don’t got one. Like you know Puffy ain’t got no music that you wanna hear. That ‘Big Homie’ sh*t is garbage. I’ma keep it all the way real with you. Because the guy says ‘Don’t worry about if I write my rhymes, I write checks.’ And then sings to you.” (92Q)

Last month, Puff unleashed his new “Big Homie” music video to the masses.

The hip-hop mogul proclaims his supreme status as he holds court at O’Fishole Seafood in Harlem with Ashanti, A$AP Rocky, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, Nelly, Bow Wow, and Jermaine Dupri. The bi-coastal Bad Boy also flies across the country to kick it with Snoop Dogg on Crenshaw Blvd. in L.A., while his son Christian raps alongside his father. During his trip to Miami, Puff hits up Waffle House for a late-night snack with Rozay, Wale, and French. (Rap-Up)

A week prior, MMM contributing producer Reefa told SOHH vintage Puffy records would likely end up on his highly-anticipated solo album.

“I’ve known Diddy for a little while,” Reefa told SOHH. “I’m kind of in the Bad Boy family. I’ve did a lot of work with him. He wants that whole classic, hard-hitting rhythm music and he called me up and is giving me a chance to work on the project. I’m very thankful. I can’t say I’m just finding that out [about his return as ‘Puff Daddy’] but I got that vibe. I knew where it was going to end up at. The Money Makin’ Mitch project, it’s going to be some great music on there.” (SOHH)

Puffy’s new “Big Homie” track premiered online in late March.

“Big Homie” features French Montana and Rick Ross, and the latter is clearly the biggest influence on Puff’s current sound: It’s big, it’s badass-sounding, and it leans into that signature monster plod. But while Ross’ penchant for rapping just behind the beat always sounds like a conscious decision (not even the power of rhythm can move the Bawse), Puff just sounds slightly inept (which is a pretty accurate description of his career-long rhyme style). Everybody is going hard, but by surrounding himself with high-impact blasters in Montana and Ross, Puff highlights the oomph his rapping has always lacked. (Entertainment Weekly)
