Instead of ignoring the jab, Montana responded to Fif with a throwback GQ cover of the rap star.

Back in January 2013, Montana put an end to his 50 beef and said their issues were not as serious as people thought.

“I try to keep it entertaining,” Montana said, referring to the dispute. “Me and him don’t got no real problems. I guess I had said something in an interview he read and you know he probably just be looking for anything, he read it, sent the tweet out and I sent the tweet back but ain’t no problem with him. 50 is 50. Yeah, [laughs], you know, jean shorts with the knee caps showing. [Did he really wear jean shorts?] Man, there’s probably a couple of photos out there on the Internet, I seent it. Yeah, ain’t no beef, man. You know I’ve been doing good. I had a great year, I want to keep going. That man already did his thing, I feel like it’s my turn now. That’s all it is. Yeah, I don’t want to go back and forth with him, he already did his thing now it’s my turn, let me eat.” (“The Angie Martinez Show”)

In 2012, Fif likened Montana to his jailed rap foe Ja Rule.

“He runs his mouth prematurely, he’s not ready to compete on any level with me,” Fif said in an interview. “When I drop a record and it becomes the number one selling record in twelve hours, after you saying that, I think you should be quiet a little bit. You should hear the crickets now. So moving forward, I’ll put him completely out of business. I’ll put him out of business off the block, the corner — he only had one song and you didn’t even care about it because it was him, it had four other people on it. You don’t got to pick a side — my run itself will pick a side. That’s your new Ja Rule right now. He’s going to be your new Ja Rule.” (Peter Parker)

  1. 50’s a genius, promoting #EFFENVODKA by comically jabbing a “rival” (lmao rival for real??)

  2. So you diss a man by showing him on the cover of GQ? Meanwhile you’re in a pic spooning with another dude? Did I miss something?

  3. GQ cover orrrr spooning with another man..shouldn’t even be a debate. But with this generation of dress wearing rappers let me make it clear. Spooning with a man loses every time.

  4. Best thing French could do is avoid him. Act like the dude don’t even exist. But he feeding into him.

  5. I’ve never understood how French Montana is even famous. His “music” (if you can call it that) is absolutely horrible. I don’t care for 50’s music, either, but, the thing is, 50 ain’t a liar that I’ve ever known. I don’t like 95% of 50’s music, but, the man speaks his mind, regardless, and that’s something I have a lot of respect for.

      • Oh, I agree. That’s why I haven’t listened to the radio for music, LITERALLY since about 1998. I DO mean that literally, too. I’m not one of those people that uses “literally” and then what they say isn’t literal, lol. No bullishtting, I haven’t listened to music on the radio since 98, 99. I keep up with what’s coming out or going on through the internet, I NEVER buy an album or any kind of music w/out DLing it on the net, first. If I don’t like it, I just delete it off my laptop. If I DO like it or like some of it, I either go out and buy the album, or, buy individual tracks off the net. 2pac’s rolling in his proverbial grave over what hip hop has become.
