Fif believes using fun topics and subjects which sway away from what is politically correct has been most entertaining.

“You know what’s interesting? I look at that platform as another place to express yourself in a different way, to entertain,” he said in an interview. “Not necessarily to create a perception of your actual character, but to be entertaining. When other people used it, it was boring because they were trying to be safe, be politically correct. They gave you the presentation they were taught to give you after they were prepped for publicity. What I gave you was some of the things I’ve seen that were entertaining topic-wise — things that made me laugh. I think it’s healthy to smile. Even though I may have the persona as one of the darkest people in hip-hop culture, you seen me smile as often as — probably more often as — somebody you seen placed in that category.” (MTV)

Last weekend, 50 used Twitter to speak about love and poke fun at his longtime friend Tony Yayo.

“Good morning I was so high after the show last night. I got engaged I love me so, sept 6 I’m getting marriedhttp://plixi.com/p/43204419,” 50 tweeted yesterday (September 5).

“Yayo caught sleeping he’s going to be mad when he see this but he shouldn’t have took money out my pockethttp://plixi.com/p/43217637”

“Hahahaha he snoring and sh*t lol sept 6http://plixi.com/p/43218402” (50 Cent’s Twitter)

He also used Twitter to share his thoughts on rapper T.I. and wife Tiny recently being arrested on a drug charge.

“Man TI and tiny done got picked up agin for methamphetmines and ecstacy dam manTiny gotta take that charge. Say it was yoursBaby,” 50 tweeted Thursday (September 2).

“Ok I’m gone till the $ept 6. I’m gonna let you motherf*cker$ $uffer of boredom till I returnBut that TI sh*t is bad. $ept 6.”

The popularity of Twitter has caught the attention of rappers like Kanye West, Soulja Boy Tell Em and Fabolous who each have their own accounts.

“You don’t want to seem phony,” Fabolous said in an interview about Twitter. “You don’t want it to be seen as something you’re just doing as a promo event. At the same time you gotta tease it in there and give it to people gradually so they can know the importance of it – not just because we got the show coming. I definitely want to use Twitter as an influence. It’s a way to communicate with people without even touching them, without really directly touching anybody. To even go further than that they put out this thing called Retweet and they can retweet me to their timelines and people that may not even be following me can see the information we are giving about it.” (All Hip Hop)
