In Fif’s perspective, he realizes matching the success of his 2003 studio debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, is not attainable.

“I know I can’t actually have the success I’ve had in the past,” 50 said in an interview. “It’s impossible. [Animal Ambition?] This is the warm up. I put this record out to cut through the cloud of my audiences mind, success. Some people are not conditioned or prepared for success. And it’s an adjustment. If you leave the environment thinking the exact same way you were in the environment chances are you won’t be successful. You have to make some adjustments as you actually go. Inquiring new information. Being exposed to different situations is what allows me to continue to do it, but if you don’t do it you’ll forget about it.” (Hot 93.7)

According to reports, the rap star’s latest solo offering sold just under 50,000 copies in its opening week.

First week sales are in for 50 Cent’s new album Animal Ambition: An Untamed Desire To Win. 50’s first project released on his own with the help of Caroline for distribution managed to sell 40,188 copies in its first 7 days of release. This is 50’s worst first week to date, just behind his last studio album — Before I Self Destruct which he released as an artist on Shady/Aftermath/Interscope Records. (Rap Dose)

The rap star’s new solo album was expected to sell at least 30,000 copies in its first week.

YOUR EARLY READS: RCA Nashville’s Miranda Lambert should easily take the top spot next week. Early, early reads suggest 130-150k. Rhino’s three Led Zeppelin reissues could potentially all wind up in next week’s Top 10; each looks headed to the 25-30k range. Other debuts include 50 Cent (G-Unit/Caroline) at 30-35k and Lucy Hale (DMG Nashville) with 18-22k. (HITS Daily Double)

Barring any setbacks, Fif’s next studio release will arrive on store shelves this September.

“The next project, Street King Immortal, was already written before I wrote that project,” Fif said referring to Animal Ambition. “That’s how I know to write it like this. Street King Immortal will actually be out in September. So I have a real strict schedule. I’m going to be moving around a lot. It’s a lot of work.” (Daily Buzz)
