New York rapper 50 Cent isn’t bringing the crew out to see Superfly this summer. The hip-hop veteran has shared his disappointment in the 2018 remake.
Curtis Jackson went to Instagram Sunday (June 24) and singled out filmmaker Director X for not living up to the original 1972 movie’s standard.
Along with Miami native Rick Ross landing a role, OutKast’s Big Boi also stars in Superfly.
Atlanta rapper Future is behind the star-studded Superfly remake’s soundtrack.
And based on the official tracklist, it looks like Future is following Mayfield’s example by holding tight to the mic for most of the new songs. He’s also recruited a murderer’s row of rappers and singers to back him up, including Young Thug, Lil Wayne, Miguel, Khalid, and 21 Savage. The “Mask Off” rapper has already shared a few tracks off the album, including PARTYNEXTDOOR collab “No Shame,” “Walk on Minks,” and (just earlier today) “Bag” (feat. Yung Bans). (EW)
Over the past few weeks, Future has put out multiple songs from the film’s soundtrack.
