New York rapper 50 Cent isn’t here for Permit Patty. The hip-hop star has called out Oakland woman Alison Ettel for now-infamously threatening to call cops on an eight-year-old girl selling water on a sidewalk.

Fif went to Instagram last night (June 24) and ripped Ettel for trying to throw law enforcement at a kid.

Over the weekend, various high-profile celebrities went at “Permit Patty” with social media posts.

According to reports, Ettel low-key tried to get cops to shut down an eight-year-old’s water-selling operation.

“This woman don’t want a little girl selling sell some water. She’s calling the police on an 8-year-old girl,” the child’s mother is heard saying. “You can hide all you want but the whole world is going to see you boo.” The video shows Ettel explaining that the girl was “illegally selling water without a permit,” all while assuming a grimace reminiscent of the one worn by Jennifer Schulte, or BBQ Becky, which went viral. Naturally, immediate comparisons (and memes) sprung up. (Mashable)

However, Ettel has since come forward and blamed the child’s mother for prompting her actions.

“I have no problem with enterprising young women. I want to support that little girl. It was all the mother and just about being quiet,” Ettel told HuffPo. Not surprisingly, #PermitPatty went viral, with the hashtag becoming the number 2 trending topic in the United States by Saturday evening. (CBS Local)
