New York rapper 50 Cent has the perfect opponent for boxing superstar Gennady Golovkin. The G-Unit boss has called out GGG to lace up his gloves for a potential bout with boxer Jermell Charlo.

Fif went to Instagram last night (April 22) to make his pitch to the boxing phenom.

Last month, 50 Cent reacted to GGG losing out on a chance to fight Canelo Alvarez over a failed drug test.

The same week, Canelo sparked headlines after reportedly failing a drug test.

Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez, who is in training for his mega rematch with unified middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin, has tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol. Golovkin and Alvarez are scheduled to meet on May 5 (HBO PPV) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in a rematch of their hugely controversial draw from September. It is unclear whether the positive test will affect the fight. (ESPN)

Alvarez’s team almost immediately responded to the coverage and blamed the failed test on contaminated meat.

A voluntary test showed Alvarez had traces of clenbuterol. A statement from Golden Boy Promotions said the amount was consistent with meat contamination that has impacted athletes in Mexico and China. Daniel Eichner, director of the World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited laboratory that conducted the test, wrote Monday: “These values are all within the range of what is expected from meat contamination.” (New York Times)
