G-Unit leader 50 Cent decided to take up a new business venture in light of yesterday's winter storm aftermath along the East Coast by offering his local neighbors shoveling service.
Writing on Twitter, 50 offered his shoveling service for one hundred dollars per household.
“I’m going out to shovel snow and see if I can make me a few extra dollars today,” 50 Cent, who lives in Connecticut, first tweeted on Monday afternoon. “I’m charging more if they want to take pictures.” The MC then named his price: “I want a hundred dollars per house. I bet anybody I’ll make a grand moving snow today.” Soon after, he told followers that four people had agreed to pay the fee and that he’d hired “employees” to increase efficiency, saying, “This snow moving business is just to see if laws apply to every business. After the first job I got 4 more now I have 3 kid[s] I hired.” (Billboard)
While working, 50 also recruited a few young helpers.
His original figures may be slightly skewed once his workforce is taken into account. Three kids were “hired” to work with 50, each earning $30 an hour, the Twitter page said. “One is a cute kid he has on a snow suit. So I’m sending him to ring the door bell to ask if we can shovel there snow. Lol,” 50 tweeted. (Fox 8 News)
The weekend blizzard caused problems for fellow New York artist Talib Kweli, resulting in the cancellation of a show.
“Alas God did not want the show to happen to date. Blacksmith XMas Show postponed due to blizzard. Stay safe out there people!,” he tweeted December 26.

Rapper Jim Jones also tweeted his reactions to the New York area receiving close to 20 inches of snow.
“God bless all th homeless on a night like this no one deserves to b with out shelter tonight,” he tweeted December 26.
