[With this summer being jam-packed with must-see flicks, SOHH had the pleasure of checking out an exclusive screening to Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon’s new “Cop Car” flick. Here’s 5 things you’ll love if you head out to see it tonight (August 7)!]
1. Kevin Bacon’s Back
The first thing you’ll love about Kevin Bacon’s “Cop Car” flick is simply the fact it is the return of Kevin Bacon. Sure, he’s been in a ton of movies and has had his fair share of time on television, but “Cop Car” puts him in a completely different light. His portrayal of a local Colorado town sheriff is epic to say the least. From the accent and grunts to his alarming mannerisms, you’re going to love “Cop Car” and everything Kevin Bacon brings to the table.
2. It’s A Real Suspense!
The second thing you’ll love about Kevin Bacon’s “Cop Car” flick is the suspense you get! One problem with all of the big budget superhero flicks is they are all way too predictably. We know Iron Man will never die because he has to make it into the next “Avengers” sequel, right? All the cards are off the table in “Cop Car” as you have no idea what the next scene will deliver. The indie flick is one that should keep you resisting getting up for refills or even checking your Facebook timeline. With that said, use the bathroom before the flick starts up!
3. Forget The 10 Million Characters Every Other Movie Has
The third thing you’ll love about Kevin Bacon’s “Cop Car” flick is the fact there are merely four, well, five main characters you can narrow in on. That’s it! No need to worry about memorizing this character does that and this one may come back into the picture with that gang of other characters. Nope. If you have watched the trailer by now, you’ll see it’s a pretty simple look: Two kids, one sheriff and a couple other characters worth not mentioning to keep the suspense in tact!
4. Kids R Us
The fourth thing you’ll love about Kevin Bacon’s “Cop Car” flick is the fact kids rule! Main characters Travis and Harrison really steal the movie. Whether you like one more than the other or you think they are both some pretty bad a** stallions, the bottom line is they make you relive your childhood. The movie starts off with them and everything from the dialogue to saying they know how to drive thanks to “Mario Kart,” it’s genius!
5. Beautiful Scenery
The fifth thing you’ll love about Kevin Bacon’s “Cop Car” flick is the scenery! Saying the scenes are beautiful do not do it enough justice. Each scene is a slice of life with colors and shades which really give you a sense of the environment. Whether it’s the open fields with green and brown or the ocean blue sky, director Jon Watts knew what he was doing.
