5. It’s The First Taste Of Stardom For Many Artists
Most of the artists selected are being given their first huge taste of stardom. After all, they’re being recognized for their “freshman” status. The rappers get to go down to XXL’s studio in New York City for a fun yet long 12-hour day that includes solo portrait shots, solo cyphers, group cyphers, a ton of interviewing, and to conclude a dope group portrait that will be on the magazine’s next cover. It’s always great exposure, as each issue of XXL usually is sent out to about 200,000 readers. Artists have the option to get their makeup done, order food, get a professional wardrobe, and much more. Talk about being pampered!
