Slaughterhouse member Joe Budden broke the news of his crew’s involvement earlier this month.
Earlier today, Joe Budden took to Instagram a new picture of him, DJ Premire and 2 of his Slaughterhouse group members Royce Da 5’9 and Joell Ortiz. The caption he posted read, “It’s that time again ppl.. #Cypher”. By doing so, Joe basically confirmed that him and Slaughterhouse will be slated for one of the cyphers at this years BET Hip Hop Awards. These cyphers are certainly one of the most exciting parts of the show and after their performance a couple years ago, you can only imagine what the powerhouse group will bring to the table this year. Maybe another Em appearance? The 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards show will be airing on October 15th. (HHNM)
Back in 2011, locked up rapper Max B used Twitter to address Budden’s BET Cypher freestyle after being name-dropped.
“JOE BUDDEN REALLY………WAVE GANG GET HIM……,” Max tweeted October 14th.
“I AM INNOCENT SO STOP PUTTING MY NAME IN NEGATIVE SH*T….THANKS TO ALL MY FANS FOR THERE SUPPORT HOMIE GOTTA APOLOGIZE” (Max B’s Twitter)
Prior to receiving a response back, Royce appeared on BET’s “106 & Park” to clarify a Rihanna reference he made multiple times during his cypher freestyle.
“Me and [Eminem] were performing at the V Festival [in England] and she was coming out to perform with us,” Royce explained. “She seen me and came up to me. Like, I’m just a Detroit guy. Everybody’s treating me like I’m famous now but I’m still regular. So she came up to me and told me that she liked one of my songs. So I felt like if she told me that again, we go together. It has to happen. So I express myself through my music and I just thought it was a line I was going to say. I didn’t know if she was going to hear it but its become this. Trending for 20 hours or whatever.” (“106 & Park”)
