[2 Chainz recently launched a great marketing campaign and is now in the middle of a great tour too. The rapper formerly known as “Tity Boi” rented a house in Atlanta at 1530 Howell Mill and painted it pink.  Then he painted the word “TRAP,” in black, on the front.  The horizontal line in the letter “A” was omitted. Peep five things you (probably) didn’t know about this house.]

1. Pink Out

“Trap house” is slang for a house where drugs are sold. Also on the property is a pink stove. There was a pink car, but it had to be towed due to vandalism.

2. Bigger Than Trappin’

The house was made to look like the house on the cover of 2 Chainz’s fourth studio offering, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music.  The building also hosted a listen party to celebrate the album’s release.

3. First 48? Try First 24

Amazingly, 2 Chainz’s marketing team prepared the house in 24 hours.  The house was originally white. After the listening party, the house was turned into a landmark.  It attracted 2 Chainz fans from Atlanta and the surrounding area.  Fans are making pilgrimages to the pink domicile to take selfies and generally show their support for their favorite rapper.

4. The Artist

Besides being a backdrop for pictures, the pink trap house is also an art gallery.  For $5, visitors can go inside and look at, or buy, hip hop inspired art.  It’s closed at night for art classes.

5. Sort Of A Big Deal

Just how popular has this house been?  Images of the hacienda has been tagged 300,000 times on Instagram. “I knew it was a dope idea, but I honestly did not expect for it to turn into what it is now,” explained, 2 Chainz’s manager, Coach Tek.

The house is attracting so many visitors that’s its irking local business owners.  All the traffic is bothersome and parking spots have become hard to find.  Needless to say, 2 Chainz’s rosy abode is completely above board and one-hundred percent legal

If you can’t make it to the pink dwelling, don’t worry.  2 Chainz may be coming to your house, at least a city near your house. So if you love live music, this is the show to see.

2 Chainz’s “Pretty Girls Like Trap Music Tour” commenced Aug. 1 in Atlanta, Georgia (the rapper is from the adjacent city of College Park).  His musical odyssey concludes Sept. 17 in Miami, Florida.

In total, he’ll perform more than 30 concerts.  That includes 2 Chainz’s shows in Boston on Sept. 5.  On Sept. 6, 2 Chainz performs in New York City at Terminal 5.

There are a few cities on his route that you don’t normally see on a tour schedule.  He has a gig in Maryland on Sept. 9; and Matthews, North Carolina on Sept. 12.

Shortly after his tour ends, 2 Chainz is set to perform at the Life is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas.

Joining 2 Chainz on the road will be the Trap Choir.

Due to the high number of artists making guest appearances on Pretty Girls Like Trap Music—Drake, Travis Scott, and Ty Dolla $ign—those attending 2 Chainz concerts should be prepared for a guest appearance or two (or how about seeing Jay-Z or Snoop Dogg by any chance?)

Pretty Girls Like Trap Music dropped June 16.  After selling 106,000 album-equivalent units during its first week of release, the opus debuted at number two on the Billboard 200.

Critics love the album.  AllMusic gave it four stars, HipHop-N-More gave it a nine (out of ten), and it received an average score of 82 from Metacritic.
