1. Iron Man 3 (May 3rd)

You can pretend like Avengers was the greatest ensemble of superheros in one mega flick but everyone knows without Robert Downey, Jr.’s role as Iron Man being present in there, it would not have come close to the excitement it brought to the big screen, especially since it stretched almost three hours long. Let’s face it, the first Iron Man shocked everyone, the second one didn’t really live up to the hype and now numero “3” is all or nothing. The regular cast is back including Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle plus newcomers like Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce are sure to add some punch. Much like the Dark Knight Rises brough darkness and an epic end to an unbelievably story, Iron Man 3 has set the bar high just on the trailer itself.

2. Tyler Perry’s Temptation (March 29)

Kim Kardashian. That’s the only name Tyler Perry’s studio needs to push his upcoming film. After postponing its 2012 release, the film is set to hit theaters right around the birth of KimYe’s baby. Publicity stunt, anyone? Let’s hope Kim K’s co-stars–Brandy Norwood, Vanessa Williams and Lance Gross–can help bring out the best in Kimmy’s acting skills. #BetterThanRealityTV

3. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (November 21)

No one thought Jennifer Lawrence would become such a hottie after The Hunger Games, so who wouldn’t want to see the 22-year-old Kentucky-born actress prance around kicking more ass as Katniss Everdeen? Lawrence took home the People’s Choice Award for favorite actress, so let’s see what she can take home after this sequel.

4. Man of Steel (June 14)

Let’s face it, Marvel Comics has had the superhero movie game on lock for the past decade. With the exception of the incredible Dark Knight series, DC Comics has not been able to hold a candle to anything Marvel’s put out. From the X-Men prequel to the Spider-Man relaunch and Avengers, Iron Man, Thor, well, you get the point. A much needed reboot to the Superman franchise is coming in 2013 in the form of Man of Steel. With a new cast and fresh directing courtesy of Zack Snyder who also did Watchmen back in 2009, the stakes are high for this to be the summer blockbuster of 2013.

5. After Earth (June 7)

M. Night Shyamalan needs a hit in the worst way, especially considering the fact he has never seemed to shake off the success of 1999’s The Sixth Sense and placed it into his other flicks. He’s dropped some pretty good films over the last decade but nothing which even comes close. This might all change in After Earth thanks to the likes of Will Smith, his son Jaden and a cast which also includes Zoe Kravitz. It’s been one year since the forgettable Men In Black III flick dropped and then five years since Seven Pounds, Hancock, I Am Legend, Pursuit of Happyness and plent more quality gems came out with his name attached to it. This should hopefully spark a ton of awesome blockbuster hits to save the movie industry once again.

Be sure to check back tomorrow when we tell you what technology is buzzing and what’s unplugged this year!
