[SOHH highlights a hot record every week and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the smash in Singled Out. After 112’s Slim decoded his Rich Homie Quan-assisted “Never Break Up” single, he now breaks down the Ma$e-featured “Kill ‘Em Girl” banger.]

It was the same type of feeling with Ma$e as we had back in the day. It’s funny how “Kill ‘Em Girl” girl happened. I was going to the studio for something else and Ma$e was there in the studio.

We saw each other and was like, “Ah man!” He was kind of getting on me saying, “We were supposed to play ball and you didn’t hit me back up.”

I was like, “Ah man! That’s true! That’s crazy, my fault.” Then he was like what are you doing and I told him I’m working on my album and he wanted to get on it.

He’s been ghostwriting and doing things behind the scenes with your favorite artists. He’s been ghostwriting and he’s been comfortable with that but I was like, “Yo Ma$e, come on! Come on this song right here!”

He was like, “Let me hear the record.” As soon as he heard it, he was like, “Oh, I’m on this record.” We’ve been going back and forth. He’s kind of like a perfectionist and trying to see how he’s going to come across.

After a couple of days of him going into the studio, because he was working on other people’s projects also, we put it together and I got Ma$e on the record too as well as Carl Thomas too.
