According to LA, the left cheek tattoo is a visual representation of his Duct Tape Entertainment record label.

The ATL native confirmed that the tat–freshly inked last week–is in fact the DTE logo. “That tattoo just comes from something in the city,” he explained. “My cousins grew up with a lot of people from Zone 6, I know a lot of people from Zone 6, and the people from Zone 6, their whole movement is called Duct Tape and I just had been really getting up with these guys. Everybody in the city from Zone 6, Zone 3, Zone 1, from Duct Tape to YGC to CDB to 30 Deep, there’s so many cliques in Atlanta and I just wanted to be the Robin Hood, I just wanted to be the guy that could have relationships with everybody in the city.” (XXL Mag)

Footage of LA’s new face tat hit the Internet earlier this week.

Grand Hustle and Yung LA decide to part ways, as the Atlanta rapper tops Gucci Mane by getting a huge, pink duck tattooed on the side of his face When T.I. finishes his prison sentence this fall, his Grand Hustle label will be short one member–Yung LA. The Atlanta rapper, best known for the T.I. and Young Dro collaboration “Ain’t I,” confirmed a split from Grand Hustle during a viral video that featured him getting a pink duck and several colored teardrops tattooed on his face. “With the breakup and me not doing business with Grand Hustle anymore, it’s a lot of controversy in the streets,” LA said. “It’s just a new day for me. I’m trying to do what’s best for me and what’s best for my career.” (Hip Hop DX)

Around mid-January, Gucci Mane‘s highly publicized ice cream face tattoo landed online.

SO ICEY! Gucci Mane hopped up out of rehab/mental facility a couple days ago. And he may need to demand a refund. Dude visited Tenth Street Tattoo in Atlanta today. And got this brand new little nugget of classiness–a big *ss ice cream cone complete with color, 3 scoops and the word “Brrr”–covering his whole right facial cheek. Wow. Tattoo artist and owner of the shop, Shane Willoughby, is the artist behind Gucci’s newest tattoo addition. And the master piercer in the shop–Jason Murray–tweeted the pics. (The YBF)

Gucci’s tat caught the attention of Game who recently weighed in on the ice cream hype.

“I seen Gucci’s new face tat and as soon I did, I thought ‘finally they can get off me about his butterfly/star/LA sh*t.’ That’s what I thought. But you know what man, I don’t give a f*ck about what they say about anybody, a muthaf*cka could tattoo a butterfly, ice cream cone, apple pie on their cheek. Bottom-line, if you know Gucci, you know he’s real. He been on trial for his life and all of that. He bodied people. So he could tattoo a f*ckin’ tampon on his face for all I care. You can’t say he’s buster or whatever. And me I done been shot, stole sh*t, robbed people, everyth-f*ckin’-thing you can think of. Tattoos don’t mean sh*t, they ain’t nothing but good art.” (VIBE)
