Atlanta rapper Young Thug has come forward to put a quick end to recent reports about him being arrested on a reckless driving charge and explain what really went down.
According to Thug, there is a misconception about what really went down last month.
“I turned at the light and the next thing you know 50 cops was behind me saying I…donuts or some sh*t,” Thug explained in an interview. “My rims like $7,500 a rim. Why would I hit donuts?” (The FADER)
Details of what all went down in the Peach State surfaced online in late February.
Law enforcement sources tell us … Mr. Thug was pulled over late last night for reckless driving and what cops call “laying drags” — driving in a circular or zig-zag motion. They also popped him for driving without a seat belt. We’re told … when cops ran his license … they found an outstanding warrant for drug possession and that’s all she wrote. YT is a hot new Atlanta rapper … who says he just signed a big deal with Cash Money. (TMZ)
While he would not dig too deep into the subject, YT recently revealed rap star Future had placed $1.5 million up for him to capitalize off of.
Last I remember you were signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 imprint, and we’ve been hearing Freebandz lately, is that deal finished? It’s not happening yet, I don’t know if it’s gonna happen. Future said he wants to give me $1.5 million so you know how that goes. It just hasn’t happened yet. (Complex)
A few weeks ago, the Southern hip-hop artist revealed an intention to partner with Future.
Young Thug talked about feeling some type of way about all the rappers freestyling over all his street bangers circulating the nation right now. He only gave a pass to Lil Wayne rapping over his beats cause that is his idol. Gucci Mane was one of the first Atlanta rappers to co-sign Young Thug so he explained to DJ Drama his relationship with Guwop and if he was signed to him. Which led to the conversation of YT not being signed to anyone and that he is about to ink the deal with Future and Bu with “Freebandz”. (ATL Night Spots)
