In addition to speaking on the former B2K member’s exit, Shanell also expressed her excitement to have Bow Wow join Cash Money Records, which is Young Money’s imprint.

“I don’t know, everything happens so quick,” Shanell said about Omarion’s departure. “Everything happens so quick but I’ve always been a fan of Omarion. So whether he’s with us or not with us, I hope the best for his career. I haven’t been able to work with him yet…[With Bow Wow,] that’s the homie. That’s the homie. We’ve worked together before. He’s actually with Cash Money. It’s a whole family but it’s two separate situations. It’s Cash Money and Young Money.” (SOHH)

Omarion responded to fans’ concerns via Twitter about why he decided to leave the label after signing last June.

“How kan I fall or get dropped when lam “gravity”…and jah is by my side being tha force that’s driving and parachuting my arriving plateau,” he wrote on Thursday (August 20). “What up tweep’s good day. There’s alot of people thinking i got dropped from Y.m that has never nor will ever b the kase I asked to b…realeased,I didnt get dropped.I wish wayne and all of Y.m good luck for there future. There r no hard feelings, business is business and I..made a decision that I felt was best for me..ALBUM OLLUSION still koming video still koming really soon luv yall thanx for holdin me down!” (Omarion’s Twitter)

Young Money President Mack Maine confirmed the singer’s departure in a written statement sent to SOHH earlier this week.

“Omarion is no longer with Young Money,” he confirmed. “May God be with him and his future endeavors.” (SOHH)

The singer reportedly inked his deal this summer, however, details surrounding the contract were never fully disclosed to the public.

Drake hasn’t finalized his highly-anticipated major label deal yet, but friend and collaborator Omarion, who appeared on Drake’s popular So Far Gone mixtape, has found a label home. Omarion has signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money imprint, becoming Drake’s labelmate. Speculation about the signing started when fellow singer, Tyrese, posted a Twitter message several days ago congratulating him on his new deal. Omarion took to his own Twitter page just yesterday (June 1) and confirmed that he is indeed signed to Young Money. (Billboard)
