Less than 24 hours after reports claimed Lil Wayne had longtime friend/rap star Drake packing his bags to leave Young Money, an inside source has stepped forward and addressed the rumor.

Earlier this morning, there was a report by MediaTakeOut.com that stated Drake would be possibly moving to Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation. Roc Nation and Cash Money/Young Money Records were reportedly working out a $50 million deal for the rights of Drake, which most likely includes his OVO brand, music and more. XXL contacted a source close to the situation that tells us that the rumor is simply not true. It is uncharacteristic of YMCMB to drop, sell and trade an artist as renowned as Drake. Early Friday (January 25), rumors of a possible mega deal going down heated up the Internet.

January 25, 2013: MediaTakeout.com just got word this morning that Young Money and Roc Nation are working FEVERISHLY to close a deal whereby Drake would be SOLD to Jay Z’s label. The deal is NOT YET complete and there are still a few obstacles to making it work. Back in February 2011, Drizzy vowed his YM loyalty despite Roc Nation rumors surfacing.
