Young Jeezy has broken his silence on why he released a diss record going at Gucci Mane and said the Atlanta emcee initiated their revived rap beef.
According to the “Snowman,” Gucci sparked Jeezy’s diss by calling out his associates on the mixtape circuit.
“It wasn’t a question of ‘Why do the song now?'” Jeezy said in an interview. “It was more so of when dude went away, did his little time or whatever – he came back. The sh*t was squashed…But as you know, Slick Pulla is locked up…He started taking shots on his little mixtapes….To be honest, I don’t have a problem with Gucci because I wear it — I have a problem with Radric [Gucci’s Mane’s given name]…This is what he does…He says what he says, then he hides his hands. Then when you say something, you’re the bad guy. I’m definitely not the aggressor in this situation. I’m just holding my business. I’m a grown a** man…I don’t got no reason to be picking on nobody or f*ck with nobody for no exposure. Come on, dog. I ain’t never did no sh*t like that to sell no records or get no notoriety. It’s personal because he keeps f*cking throwing rocks and hiding his hands, man.” (MTV)
Jeezy claims Gucci’s Writing on the Wall mixtape with DJ Holiday disses his camp.
“Girl you look like Keyshia Cole/ I know you a d*ck pulla,” Gucci raps on the track. “But can’t f*ck you Blood Raw/ D*mn I like them Kinky flows/28 year-old, I’m young b*tch.” (“Hurry”)
Gucci recently spoke with radio personality Miss Info about Jeezy’s “24, 23” diss record.
“I like attention,” Gucci said. “I must be doing something right if I got people doing songs about me…I called [OJ] last night…He asked me what I thought about, and I told him I thought it was alright, and he thought it was ok too…Not even that it’s ok, I just got so many other big things going on right now…I don’t think [I’ll respond]. I’ll just give him h*ll by goin’ hard. To be honest with you I can’t wait to do the Birthday Bash [in Atlanta]…I’m too excited. They say me and OJ [Da Juiceman] are the Birthday Bash Boys in Atlanta. So we can’t wait to shut it down. Yeah [the diss was planned]. It ain’t hard to see what’s going on. But to each his own, if that’s what he wants to do. We’re just making hits. Ain’t nobody to diss. Jeezy dropped the diss track earlier this week.
“They say the club is off the chain,” Jeezy raps in the song. “I’m on some Louie sh*t today then some Gucci Mane. This n*gga still on my d*ck, they like some groupies, man. Can’t keep they lips closed, they worse than coochie man. And that fruity lookin’ stupid like some Coogi man. Let you trick me off these streets, you must be stupid man…Tell him this ain’t what he want, not to bust no, but between me and you, I think the boy slow….They say the club is off the chain, straight shots to the heads, them some Juice Man…Ask the real n*ggas in the city who got the juice man. This n*gga talkin’ about the work but what he do man. Y’all know these n*ggas really clowns and I’m the truth man.” (“24, 23”)
