Radio personality Funkmaster Flex promised a strong line-up yesterday (April 21) evening on his nightly broadcast.
“Don’t forget,” Flex told his audience, “major, major, major announcement tomorrow. 4 p.m. Angie Martinez, Summer Jam 2009. I will be one the one and two’s prime time. Turn my headphones up.” (Hot 97)

Known for featuring artists like 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Michael Jackson and R.Kelly, Summer Jam also marked the spot where The Game publicly cut his ties with G-Unit in 2005.
During Summer Jam, the New York tri-state area’s biggest hip-hop concert of the year, the Game’s frustrations boiled over while on-stage in New Jersey’s Giants Stadium, and he took several verbal shots at the G-Unit. The rapper also had people dressed up in a gorilla suit and a rat costume, representing 50’s alleged snitching, both wearing G-Unit T-shirts and getting beaten in a mocking manner by Game’s clique. Ticket information and a confirmed date for the concert has yet to be released.
