In Buck Marley’s opinion, there is a strong lack of authenticity going on in rap right now.

“Things change everyday,” Buck told DJ Whoo Kid when asked for his take on the rap scene since being released from jail last year. “I was able to keep up with a lot of different music, not as much as I am now that I’m out but at the same time, I was hearing a lot of what was going on and paying attention to what’s on the TV. Things change, man, and I feel like the rap game’s a bit watered down at this point. Everybody’s happy and partying – everybody’s got Phantoms and Lambos – where is the hungry n*ggas at? … Man, everybody on some broke sh*t but then wanna make it look like they’re on some rich sh*t. That’s what they’re on right now.” (Shade 45)

The Nashville rapper also promised to keep his music fully authentic.

“I’ve never been that kind of artist to ride the wave,” Buck added. “I’m doing me – I ain’t sugarcoating sh*t. I’m getting to it in a real way as far as here in the streets, the same way I been getting to it. I’m just putting into the music and letting motherf*ckers know, ‘Look man, this is the real deal. This is what’s really going on. This is Buck. This is what Buck’s doing.’ I’m not knocking nobody else for what they got going on.” (Shade 45)

Last week, Young Buck released a remix to ex-rap pal 50 Cent‘s “This Is Murder Not Music” track.

Young Buck is back once again. Say what you want, dude has been dropping more material than anyone you know right now, and today he’s back with another new one today. This time around Young Buck takes his talents to the track “This Is Murder Not Music”, by his former boss, 50 Cent. Young Buck hits the track running, letting loose of a barrage of his talents, once again displaying his lyrical finesse and abilities and doing so over a tough ass beat. (Stupid Dope)

Recently, Curtis Jackson discussed his thoughts on Buck trying to get his feet wet in the music biz again.

“I hope he get it. But for me, I couldn’t move forward with the things that I want if I was concentrating on holding someone else back. Buck is out and active, but even when saying you seen him doing stuff: Where are the other members? See what I’m saying. You see the news and all the video stuff, I guess they expect me to shoot it and do it.” (Complex)
