Yela abandoned his past dreams of becoming a professional skateboarder after music took hold of his life.

“I don’t have a backup plan, dog,” Yela told SOHH when asked what other careers he previously contemplated before his career took off. “F*ck a backup plan. There is no Plan B. Plan A works. That’s all there is to that. My 0-60 EP release is the beginning to a long, successful and healthy career. And that’s all there is to it. I didn’t come this far to f*cking lay bricks, man. I had dreams of becoming a professional skateboarder. I’ve always been a skateboarder and I’ll be a skateboarder, but music took the forefront. I’m an extremist. When I want to do something, I just don’t stop. That’s why I’m here. that’s why Trunk Muzik is what it is and that’s why we have a situation over at Interscope. It’s my perseverance, relentless and being a f*cking rebel. That’s what I’m here for.” (SOHH)

Southern rapper Soulja Boy recently revealed his interest to venture into the film industry.

“I really wanna break into Hollywood,” Soulja told BET.com. “I really wanna do the correct first film and make an impression on a lot of people so they can come holla at me and wanna put me in their movies. Doing music [is] my first love, but I always had a passion for acting ’cause I feel like I come out natural on the camera. In the future I got a couple plans. I’ve been talking to Nick Cannon, who is directing this upcoming film I’m supposed to be starring in, and I think that’ll be a good look, but I just gotta pick the right film and kill the part.” (BET)

G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean recently talked to SOHH about his aim to host a televised cooking show.

“For Valentine’s Day, I would want to go with Nicki Minaj to my house,” Sean admitted. “I would make dinner. I know how to cook. I cook almost every day. Yeah man, I love cooking. That’s actually one of my passions. I think I’m gonna start a cooking show one of these days. My favorite is pasta. I love making spaghettis and macaroni. So I’d probably do something like that with some asparagus. Something on the side, maybe some chicken. Some weed brownies at the end.” (SOHH)

Following the announcement of his new Shady Records home last January, Yela opened up about remaining mum on the deal since mid-2010.

“Keeping quiet was the hardest sh*t in the world, honestly. I was just so excited for a while. And everyone from my team who did know was really responsible about not letting it out. But I met with Eminem about four to five months ago in Detroit. [Manager] Paul [Rosenberg] and Em flew me and my manager out to just kick it and get acquainted. From that meeting, I had no idea it would turn into this situation. I remember Paul was asking me about the meth problem in Alabama and I told him that I wrote ‘Pop The Trunk’ based off that issue. Next thing I know, Em starts rapping some of my lines from the song. I can’t even describe how that felt, I actually got super nervous. Em’s a real hip-hop fan, he knows about everything that’s going on.” (VIBE)
