Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthin’ To F With: RZA Heads To Jail For Father’s Day

Wu-Tang Clan leader RZA is doing some good this Father’s Day weekend by heading to a Los Angeles Juvenile Hall to kick knowledge to dads going through a rough time in their lives.

According to reports, RZA is hosting a Father’s Day event tomorrow (June 14).

RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan is going to jail … but not because he’s in trouble — in fact, RZA is going to help. TMZ has learned … the rapper is working with the L.A. County Probation Dept. to host a Father’s Day workshop at L.A. Juvenile Hall on Saturday. According to the L.A. County Probation Dept., RZA’s goal is to help “educate the young men about their roles, responsibilities and expectations as fathers upon their release from juvenile hall.” Among the activities, RZA will teach the inmates how to change diapers, dress a baby and properly care for a child. Responsible parenting ain’t nuthin’ to f**k with. (TMZ)

Tomorrow, Houston, Texas rapper Andre “007” Barnes is also hosting a Father’s Day event.

On Saturday, June 16 Andre “007” Barnes, a former member of the gangsta rap group the 5th Ward Boyz, will hold the M.E.N. (Mentoring Educating Networking) Mentor Celebration in north Houston. The event is designed to honor and educate males of all ages in matters of finances, family, and faith. “Double 0″, who is now a business owner and dedicated Christian rapper, claims he didn’t know his own father until the age of 22 after he had already achieved a criminal record and success as a recording artist on Rap-A-Lot Records. He said he was driven to organize the affair after seeing alarming statistics about the often negative fate (incarceration/homelessness, etc.) of children who grow up without a dad. West Coast rap veteran Snoop Dogg recently talked about being a father to his kids.

My kids always heard my music from day one so they’ve been exposed to everything. They’ve been exposed to the truth because the truth don’t have no prejudice. I’ve always expressed nothing but reality to my kids so that they understand when they leave outside of my house that it’s a real world out there and it’s not gon’ be catered to you with maids, butlers and tutors. You’re gonna have to go out there and survive and make it happen on your own. So, the reality of it is that they’re gonna have to live their lives. My life is my life but they have to create their own lives.” (Hip Hop DX)

Last year, New York rapper Saigon told SOHH his biggest regret of 2010 was not spending enough time with his daughter.

“When I think about my biggest regret over the past year, it would have to include my time away from my daughter. My biggest regret of 2010 was not spending enough time with my daughter. I definitely didn’t spend enough time with my daughter. The problem is she lives in California and I live in New York. A lot of times, it’s easy to make up excuses [for why] I don’t see her as much as I should. I really should though. Even if I have to get on an airplane for six hours a week, then that’s what I need to do. I really need to see her more. It’s important now because she just turned two, and I would like to make up [for my absence].” (SOHH Guest Star)
