Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Solomon Childs is alive and well after narrowly dodging death. The hip-hop veteran has come forward to speak on the aftermath of getting shot multiple times last month in New York.

Childs credited a higher power for helping him survive gunshots in Staten Island.

“The Lord must have had angels by the thousands around me,” said rapper Solomon Childs, whose real name is Walbert Dale. “I wanted to fight. I wasn’t ready to leave my kids. I’m definitely grateful to have the chance to fight for my life. … There was blood everywhere. It could’ve easily killed me. I thank the great Lord I’m here and he kept me around. He has the last word.” (SI Live)

Around mid-December, details surfaced surrounding Childs’ shooting.

A rapper associated with the Wu-Tang Clan was shot on Staten Island Saturday, said law enforcement sources. Solomon Childs, whose real name is Ryan Dale, was struck on Forest Avenue and taken to the hospital, sources said. Childs’ injuries are not life-threatening, the sources said. (Page Six)

Solomon’s Facebook page also had an update on his condition.
