While he could not provide many details, Shy admitted things do not look like they are in his favor at the moment.

“I really can’t talk about the case, but you know, sh*t, [it’s] not looking too good right now. But, I [maintain] my innocence, I’m innocent. And that’s that. I don’t really know what else to say: I’m out, I’m okay, I’m healthy [and] I wanna thank everybody for their support. I just got out a couple of hours ago so my mind is all over the place you know what I’m sayin’, but it is some very serious charges, I’m looking at some serious time of course.” (HHDX)

Reports of his arrest turned into a widespread topic around the New York area earlier this week.

Shyheim Franklin, 35, has been arrested on felony charges, after an early-morning raid of his 185 St. Mark’s Pl. apartment in St. George turned up a gun and drugs, police allege. The raid took place Friday at 6:15 a.m. — members of the Staten Island Gang Squad used a warrant to search Franklin’s apartment, where under his mattress they reported finding a sock with a .32 caliber Serrifile Inc. Terrier One revolver and five rounds of ammo inside, according to court papers. Franklin’s criminal record means he has no business possessing a gun, according to court papers. Police also found 41 glassines of heroin in a safe under his bed, a Xanax pill in a plastic zipper bag on his bedside table, and a scale alongside empty bags and glassines under his bed, court papers allege. He remained in jail since last weekend but was slated to make a court appearance on Tuesday (April 23).

Franklin was arraigned in Stapleton Criminal Court on Saturday, on several felony and misdemeanor charges, including second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to information from District Attorney Daniel Donovan’s office. As of Monday night he remains in Rikers Island, held on $10,000 bail until his next court appearance, on Tuesday. (SI Live)

The rapper is most known for joining the Wu family during his teenage years.

The youngest member of the Wu-Tang Clan, Shyheim entered with his debut album at the ripe young age of 14. Lyrically he impressed rappers with a skill level that would make any hip-hop fan forget about his age altogether. A native of Staten Island, NY, Shyheim even spent time living with Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah. Shyheim released The Lost Generation in 1996, while the acclaimed Manchild followed in 1999.
