[With the new Boys of Zummer tour officially launched, Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz and Wiz Khalifa talk to SOHH about returning home from big tours and performing in front of their local fans.]
It’s always good playing the hometown shows because the excitement is there. It’s just more of an event, you know. It feels like that especially since I’ve been on tour for a few years.
I’ve been to a couple of these areas before, so I kind of get excited as soon as I see the venues. But you know, hometown shows are always the best and they’re always crazy.
Backstage is wow, you got all your family there, and it’s just a really good vibe. It reminds you of why you should quit, the times when you weren’t on the stage, and you were just enjoying the show. It’s just a trip, you know, it’s really good. -Wiz Khalifa
Yes, I would agree with Wiz. I would say that even more so when you’re going on like these co-headline tours – like I’m excited to go to Pittsburgh because I think it’s fun to see an artist in their hometown, you know?
That day is Wiz’s day, and it’s fun to be a part of that, so I’m excited for that. -Pete Wentz
